Description: The Staff Accountant will support accounting operations within our construction projects, focusing on accurate financial reporting, compliance, and cost control. This role requires a detail-oriented professional experienced in construction accounting, including Work-in-Progress (WIP) analysis, monthly profit reconciliations, and comprehensive AR management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records and transactions.Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and discrepancies.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.Coordinate and support internal and external audits.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes.Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy in cost allocations and project expense reporting.Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and account analysis.Conduct monthly profit reconciliations, including WIP analysis, to validate revenue and profit margins, ensuring reasonableness of reported figures.Ad Hoc cost analysis.Collaborate with project managers to monitor project budgets, evaluate job costing, and identify areas for cost improvement.Process Accounts Receivable (AR) for construction projects, tracking outstanding balances, and coordinating collections to ensure timely payments from clients.Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.At least three years of experience in accounting or auditing.CPA certification or eligibility preferred.Proficient in accounting software and MS Office.Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and tax laws.
Travel Requirements:
Flexibility to travel on short notice for urgent business needs, to attend meetings, trainings, and events.Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips.Compliance with company travel policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.Ability to use a computer, phone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.Visual acuity for detailed work and computer useAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds of files, documents, and materials.
