Hiring Range: $45,905.60 - $58,290.96/Year. It is anticipated the hiring rate offered will be +/- the midpoint range depending on qualifications.

Port Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our finance team! This position will process invoices, manage vendor relationships, ensure the accuracy of financial records. The preferred candidate for this position should be highly organized, detail-oriented, have a strong background in accounts payable processes, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy. This position is under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reviews submitted invoices to ensure supporting documentation is complete and accurateVerifies general ledger (G/L) coding and obtains appropriate approvals prior to processing for paymentReconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system generated reports to balancesReviews and monitors own work to ensure accuracyResearches and resolves discrepancies related to purchase orders, contracts, invoices, vendor statements, or payments in a timely and efficient mannerSupports monthly closing activities, including accrual entriesCorresponds with vendors and internal employees regarding inquiries related to invoices, payments, and accounts payable matters in a timely and professional manner, while providing supporting documentation and assisting with audits as neededPrepares special reports and analysisPerforms related duties and tasks as assignedAdheres to PCCA policies CPR certified or the ability to become CPR certified within the first year of employmentTier 3 status designation
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The preferred candidate for this position should be a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and time management skills, have advanced analytical skills, capable of consistently accurate work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. They must possess the following:

EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS
High school diploma or equivalentCollege courses or accounting training preferredAbility to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) during course of employment Valid driver's license
EXPERIENCE & JOB KNOWLEDGE
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance-related roleBasic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skillsExperience in JD Edwards accounting system, Outlook email, and DocuWare electronic storage software is preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel, Outlook and other related applicationsAbility to type and 10 key by touchAbility to communicate with vendors and employees in a professional mannerAbility to maintain good employee relations Ability to work well under supervision and meet deadlinesCustomer service-oriented
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ability to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, typing and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined, climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.
