Position Summary

Brief Description of PSU/School/DeptPosition SummaryThe purpose of this position is to provide accounting support to Facilities & Planning department as well as Campus Accounting department who provides support to the campus community.

The Accounting Technician creates, reviews, and verifies accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing transactions for accuracy in multiple accounting and database systems. On a daily basis, they interact with vendors, customers and staff members to resolve issues associated with billing or payment, including invoices and statements. The Accounting Technician will also provide administrative support to the University Pcard Program. A successful candidate has a strong sense of initiative, is proficient with common accounting platforms and Excel, communicates clearly and directly, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications from Classification - 12 quarter hours (8 semester hours) of Accounting courses AND
- An Associates Degree in Accounting; OR
- One year of experience that includes entering, compiling and/or reporting financial information; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Minimum Qualifications for this PositionPreferred QualificationsExperience with PSU systems, including Banner, OnBase.
Experience with cost accounting softwares such as AiM.

Work Days/HoursMonday-Friday 8am-5pmTotal Compensation Range & Benefits StatementThe starting hourly rate for this position will be between $18.16 and $20.55. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. PSU's excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities
