Job Description SummaryThe University of South Alabama's Student Accounting department is seeking to hire a Student Accounting Data Specialist. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential FunctionsEvaluates and processes student and departmental financial transactions through the Banner and TouchNet payment information systems.Assists, directs and services students concerning payment and refunding issues using the Banner and TouchNet payment information systems.Receives and processes, including accurately balancing, tuition payments and departmental deposits on TouchNet cashiering system.Reviews and processes petty cash transactions on the TouchNet cashiering system.Assists in verification of incoming cash from the bank.Checks and processes depository daily for various payments and deposits.Assists students and parents at the Teller window.Maintains a high level of customer service when interacting with students and parents via email, telephone and in person.Complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act when counseling students and parents.Answers general student questions regarding 1098T statements.Assists with imaging deferment and FERPA forms.Processes third party payments for vendor accounts; responsible for daily maintenance of office hardware (computers, printers, fax machine, etc.).Regular and prompt attendance.Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.Related duties as required.
