DESCRIPTION:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and executing various financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis, and compliance. The applicant hired will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the organization's financial data and assisting the Controller and CFO to complete a variety of important routine accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide support with General Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functionsReview Purchase Orders, process RMAs, and enter Credit Memos in the accounting softwareReview and approve expenses incurred and paid by company cards in the expense moduleServe as a trained back-up for processing of vendor bills and check runsCreate monthly adjusting entries to reclass overhead expensesHelp maintain depreciation and amortization schedules as neededPerform weekly and monthly reconciliations for bank and other financial accountsAssist in physical inventory checks and adjustmentsMaintain cost reports for company's Live Event revenue streamGenerate monthly commission schedulesHelp maintain compliance with state and local government bodies by Filing Annual ReportsRenewing of licenses, registering for Sales tax, etc. (Guidance provided)Serve as a trained back-up for bi-weekly payroll processing, and submitting to Paychex (Payroll includes multi-state employees and prevailing wage structures)Research applicable prevailing wage rate for new projectsOccassionally assist with the preparation of certified payroll reports related to prevailing wage projects

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with progressive responsibilitiesKnowledge with Paychex and/or Paychex Flex software REQUIREDStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principlesProficiency in accounting software, ERP Systems and Microsoft ExcelExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAttention to detail and ability to work independentlyKnowledge of Job Costing concepts (Preferred)Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulationsAbility to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
