Overview
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is a business critical position requiring effective interaction with all levels of management and leadership. This position requires management of all aspects of the accounting department including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Payroll, A/R, A/P, Inventory, Costing and general accounting.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll and standard costingAssess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completenessEnsure the ongoing accuracy of financial statements Leads the monthly closing, financial reporting, and analysis in a compressed 3-day reporting scheduleAnalyzes budgets vs actual balance sheet and expense performanceCoordinate all account reconciliations to ensure they are compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley and completed on a timely basisDevelop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationshipsEnsure Site operational activities for compliance with internal control procedures and SOX requirementsCoordination of all external and internal audit activities including timely provision of audit schedules as requiresPrepare budgets and forecasts to track needs and deliver business goalsCoordination of all system process improvements and upgradesOversee Shared Services to drive accounting execution Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fieldManufacturing background is requiredCPA and/or MBA is a plus3+ years' experience in accounting Ability to manage in a collaborative environmentMust have in-depth professional knowledge of US GAAP accounting concepts, manufacturing systems, problem solving, critical thinking and creativity skills are essentialStrong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving resultsStrong work ethic, high standards for work product, honesty, and integrityExcellent PC skills including Excel and other MS Office applications and working knowledge of ERP systemsExcellent oral, written communication and have a high level of moral and ethical codes
