Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Business Operations, the Business Operations Manager plays a critical role in overseeing financial and business functions for the UK Libraries centralized business office. This position is responsible for comprehensive account oversight and reconciliation, procurement management, financial reporting, oversight of cash handling and compliance with University policies and procedures. The Business Operations Manager will supervise two financial positions, provide guidance and support to library faculty, staff, and students and serve as a liaison with key University departments such as Treasury Services, Accounts Payable, Accounting & Financial Services, Purchasing, Travel Services, and Risk Management. The position involves serving as the primary backup to the director, participating in strategic planning, and implementing goals and policies. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, critical thinker, with strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Advanced data analysis skills and the ability to develop and implement process improvements are also preferred.
Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesAdvanced Excel skills strongly preferred (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling, etc.).Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Comfortable learning new systems and implementing process improvements.Effective communication skills across varied stakeholders.Experience managing or mentoring staff strongly preferred.We value candidates who are adaptable, tech-savvy, and motivated to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
