As an Accountant you will be focused on ensuring the financial and operational activities of Cushing Terrell will be correctly recorded, controlled, and monitored. You will be a reliable source ensuring positions of leadership have the information necessary to make informed business decisions. You will be a business partner and become responsible for the preparation and monitoring of the financial records for Cushing Terrell. In addition, you will be responsible for financial planning and analysis, providing leadership, and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and Cushing Terrells internal policies.
Qualifications* you will bring to the table:
A Bachelors degree or higher education in accounting or related field8+ years of job-related experienceMust have CPA licenseProficient in using Microsoft Office, Excel including pivot tables and V-lookups and Outlook, Deltek Vantagepoint ERP SoftwareBasic knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in financial accounting functionsHigh level of quality control and ability to audit and correct complicated mathematical problemsFamiliar with project contracts, project accounting, and invoicingStrong organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracyAbility to work within a team environment and able to adapt to changes quickly in a fast-paced environmentAbility to prioritize and meet deadlinesFearlessness in terms of initiative, we expect that you start projects on your own, face challenges, and contribute to efficiencies, even if you have never done a task beforeMust be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environmentCustomer service oriented

As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will*
Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepanciesReview and reconciliation of employee deduction trackingBe responsible for daily entry of key data of financial transactions in accounting systemPerform basic troubleshooting to reconcile account balances and inquiry to obtain missing information or verify unusual dataMake non-routine choices within established precedent and with limited supervisionAssist with monthly trial balances and custom report generation involving intermediate levels of financial analysis using prescribed proceduresPerform internal audits on contract compliance and reviews of retainer balancesIdentify process improvements where possibleAssist with preparation for various audits and surveysPrepare monthly billings for clients on a national, regional, and local scalePrepare monthly financial statements, including review of Accounts Payable coding including expense variance reviews, Accounts Receivable postings for revenue recognition, and General Ledger balances for accuracy, monthly posting of journal entries as requiredAssist in all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, statutory guidelines and internal financial policies and proceduresCoordinate with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable departmentsReconcile accounts in a timely mannerAssist with year-end audit preparationAssist with annual insurance application renewalFile sales, excise, and use tax reportsPrepare cash flow analysis reports
*The majority of the time, a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach.
Your pay
*The actual salary offered for the role will be determined based on various factors including but not limited to; years of experience, certifications, location, level of job-related knowledge, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law).
The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus
