The Senior Revenue Accountant will support our revenue accounting processes, including revenue recognition, gross-to-net calculations, contract review, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ASC 606, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Finance and Commercial teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries reflecting revenue, cash, and accounts receivable transactions, gross-to-net deductions such as prompt pay and returns, and revenue-related expenses such as commissions and royaltiesFacilitate revenue accounting by calculating and summarizing monthly shipments and sales by product, including analyses to adjust for sales cut-off, support gross-to-net calculations, and assist with monthly internal reportingSupport monthly and quarterly close by preparing account reconciliations for accounts receivable and accrued gross-to-net expenses, preparing journal entries for quarterly financial statement reporting, and performing quarterly tasks such as bad debt and flux analysisReview and roll forward accounts receivable aging reports to ensure accuracy and identify potential issues with billings and/or collectionsFacilitate review of customer and revenue-related agreements to ensure ASC 606 complianceSupport audits by ensuring internal controls compliance, preparing necessary documentation, and responding to auditor requestsContribute to quarterly financial statement tie-out and ensuring adequate supporting documentation for financial statement disclosures Prepare reports and analyses on revenue, accounts receivable, and gross-to net deductionsAssist in designing and implementing process improvements and internal controlsSupport the implementation of accounting systems or tools to streamline revenue operationsAssist with customer credit limit management and approving credit holds, as neededWork with 3rd party accounts receivable, billing, and collections teams to resolve accounts receivable and customer issues, as neededOther duties that may be assigned
Education & Licenses and Experience
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
