NJR is seeking an Accounting Intern to support the Financial Planning and Accounting team. You will have an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of challenging and unique roles within the accounting department.

What you will do:
Bring your enthusiasm and drive and you’ll learn from some of the top talent in the energy industry. You’ll have hands-on experience with your team and the support of our human resources team through this 10-week program. Growing both professionally and personally throughout the program could lead to future post-grad opportunities.
• Participate in the month-end close process: reviewing account balances, creating/posting journal entries, preparing reports
• Assist with preparation of account reconciliations
• Shadow employees within different accounting and reporting functions including External Reporting, Regulatory Accounting, Technical Accounting and Consolidations, and Fixed Assets and Utility Plant Accounting
• Coordinate on SOX Controls
• Assist in the review and tracking of the Company’s fixed assets
• Other duties or ad hoc projects may be assigned

Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; working towards 150 credits towards CPA certification
• Strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of Excel
• Resourceful and self-motivated
• Ability to work independently
• Available to work full time (40 hours per week) during defined intern program dates (June-August)
• Ability to work hybrid/onsite in the corporate office in Wall, NJ
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
