Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying advanced accounting principles to record and analyze financial data, prepare financial statements, and support month-end and year-end close processes. This role also involves performing account reconciliations, assisting with audits, and supporting various financial and operational projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensuring PeopleSoft GL sales ties to OMS for MTD and YTD.Reviewing, allocating, and spreading off current and long-term invoices (such as maintenance agreements, licenses, etc.).Compile and analyze financial data to prepare financial statements and related reports.Reviewing shipping supplies accounts, reclassing to prepaid, calculating, and allocating supplies usage.Perform general ledger account reconciliations and analyses.Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.All month-end inventory in-transit/reverse in-transit reports and any inventory analysis with reconciliations.Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit.Support budgeting processes and special financial projects as assigned.Perform GL account reconciliation and analysis.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (B.B.A.) or equivalent.5-7 years of related experience in accounting; public accounting experience is a plus.Experience with tax filing and audits is preferred.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks.Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and accounting software.Familiarity with PeopleSoft and Avalara tax software is a plus.
