We are currently searching for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Pittsburgh, PA. The Staff Accountant will assist the Controller and financial team with accounting related activities, helping to ensure timely, accurate recording of all financial transactions in accordance with firm policy, IRS and other regulations.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to
Work with the Finance team to post transactions, review and maintain accounting records and prepare financial information in all Accounting related functional areas.Prepare detailed reconciliations of general ledger, deposit, cash and bank accounts, including ad-hoc reconciliations of actual transactions against budget and other benchmarks.Participate in preparation of the Firm budget as well as on-going forecasts and projections.Assist with administering Firm Travel & Entertainment and Purchasing Card programs.Participate in annual financial statement audit and other special purpose audits.Prepare tax reporting information and assist with completion of Firm tax returns as needed.Back-up transactional processing as needed.Assist with projects to enhance departmental efficiency through testing, process change, technological upgrades and other projects and tasks as assigned.
Successful candidates will have
A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.Five (5) or more years of Accounting related professional work experience at a law firm or other professional services firm.Exceptional Excel skills with the ability to transform financial data into clean, accurate reports which summarize key trends.A demonstrated ability to compile, review and discuss basic financial statements from trial balance.The ability to plan, organize, manage and execute multiple, simultaneous responsibilities, meeting firm deadlines.Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas and explain issues effectively with team members of all levels.The ability to maintain strict confidentiality in handling financial records and employee information in accordance with policy and best practices.The desire to work collaboratively and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
