Supervising Accounting Technician
The Countyis recruiting for Supervising Accounting Technicians who supervise a fiscal support unit and perform complex paraprofessional accounting work in the maintenance of financial, statistical and fiscal records. Essential duties include assigning, training, and evaluating the work of a fiscal support unit; identifying and resolving problems and determining corrective entries; auditing entries for legality, accuracy, and compliance with established requirements; and searching for, abstracting, and explainingtechnical data.
A current vacancy exists in the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector's Department. The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy and may be used for future vacancies as they occur throughout the County.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience where the primary responsibility isperforming accounting duties and fiscal clerical work in support of accounting functions. Note: Cash handling for retail sales/food service is NOT considered qualifying.
EDUCATION: Eight (8) semester (12 quarter) units of completed college accounting coursework. A list of accounting coursework MUST be submitted with the application.
SUBSTITUTION: One additional year of qualifying experience as noted above may substitute for the educational requirement.
Note: Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
The ideal candidate will have excellentorganizational, leadership and time management skills, a college degreein accounting,possess experience reconciling financial data across systems, and be detail oriented, courteous and helpful when interacting with customers.
Additionally, the ideal candidate for the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector's Department will have property tax experience that includesresearching,interpreting, and implementing revenue and taxation codes and working with tax system development,implementation, and system interfaces.
