This position provides para-professional accounting work through the application of independent decision making and professional judgment in all assigned areas. The position is primarily responsible for providing technical fiscal advice and service relating to the Accounts Payable functions including Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) vouchers, invoices, account reconciliations, and other related accounting duties. The person in this position handles complex transactions which require an understanding of the Statewide Accounting System (SWIFT) to effectively control, analyze, audit, and prepare appropriate accounting records and reports, and recognize and mitigate errors or problems. They handle the analysis of complex documents like professional/technical contracts; cost allocation plans; purchases orders; etc.; ensuring that period of performance date is accurate and required deadlines are met.

One (1) year technical/para-professional experience performing accounting tasks.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or other closely related field as determined by the agency.
Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:
Skill in customer service to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to customers.
Ability to use spreadsheet software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, to enter, compile, store, and retrieve data in a variety of reports.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to analyze and interpret financial records, locate basic errors, and recommend solutions to minor fiscal issues.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in accounting, finance, or other closely related field as determined by the agency.
- Minnesota's Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT).
- Processing invoices, accounts payable, and account reconciliation.
- Microsoft Excel, creating spreadsheet, formulas, v-lookup and pivot tables.
- Processing business expenses or travel related expenses.
