ACCOUNTING OFFICER, SPECIALIST - ACCOUNTING SERVICES SECTION / CASHIERING UNIT/ HEADQUARTERS

The reporting location for this position is Headquarters located in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor).

The Accounting Officer specialist assists the Sr. Accounting Officers and performs various professional accounting duties.

This position will be processing payments and reconciling financial activity for Parks and DPR's Division of Boating and Waterways. Incumbent is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of records required to reconcile the Zero Balance Account (ZBA) and for reviewing and analyzing daily bank data for the Division of Boating and Waterways boater card fees. Maintain on-going contact with Division of Boating and Waterways, banks, and State's control agencies to ensure that revenue is received and recorded in FI$Cal accurately, resolving discrepancies in timely manner. Process credit card refund for boater cards plus Yacht and Ship Refunds: this involves verifying validity of refund request and availability of fund prior to processing. Prepare deposits for parking ticket citations and enter in FI$CAL. Reconcile deposits in ZBA and resolve any discrepancy with DTI staff. This position will also perform daily analyses of the Department's ZBA account with Bank of America (B of A) to ensure revenue collections are accurately accounted for, reconcile, research, and analyze bank deposit discrepancies and bank adjustments and prepare correction documents. Resolve ZBA deposit issues concerning State Treasurer's Office receipts not properly credited to the Department.

Knowledge of FI$CAL, PC experience, MS Word, MS Excel, is required.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
