** **This position does not have the flexibility to telework, the incumbent will be required to physically work in the office**

Job Summary

As an Account Clerk you will receive and prepare daily payments received by Department of Human Services (DHS) Financial Operations Division (FOD) Receipt Center for deposit. Payments are received and processed for programs throughout DHS (excluding Child Support) and for the following state agencies:

  • Department of Public Safety
  • Pollution Control Agency
  • Minnesota Management & Budget (SEGIP premium payments)
  • Department of Labor & Industry, and
  • MNsure

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Data entry skills sufficient to key data and dollar amounts from stubs and checks
  • Math skills sufficient to add and ensure checks balance with total amounts owed
  • Typing/Keyboarding skills sufficient to type remitter names, OCR lines and amounts

Preferred Qualifications

  • A general knowledge of governmental accounting and the Statewide Integrated Financial Tools System (SWIFT), Optima image archive system, Wausau financial system and the ARC look-up system.
  • Proficient in Keyboard and 10-Key skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability of standing, sitting, pulling, stooping;
  • Ability to lift and move paper and batched documents of up to 20 pounds;
  • Ability to move arms on a continual basis sufficient to open mail, sort and file documents.
